Berkeley Homes’ planning application to construct 209 homes near to an electrical substation in Reading was refused permission in April 2021, partially on noise grounds.
24 Acoustics advised had previously assisted Berkeley Homes with their due diligence of the site and provided extensive acoustic design guidance to mitigate the low frequency noise experienced from the substation. This was successfully challenged by public inquiry and 24 Acoustics’ director, Reuben Peckham, acted on Berkeley’s behalf as an expert witness
