Faraday Tower Demolition

Category: Monitoring Environment

Project: Stoneham Tower Demolition

Location: Southampton

Client: University of Southampton

24 Acoustics has worked with Southampton University’s Estates Department since 2007 and is currently midway through a 10 year strategic framework agreement with the university.

We advise them on all aspects of noise, vibration and dust impact and management in relation to their capital projects. One such project is the demolition of the Faraday Tower in their Highfield Campus. This building is close to both sensitive university buildings and local residents. Our service to the university included calculation of the likely impacts in advance, review of contractor tenders and demolition methodology, specification of mitigation, liaison with all stakeholders and monitoring of noise, vibration and dust throughout the project using our own proprietary Intelligent Noise Monitor (INM) systems.
